Project Information
The Living Odyssey is my ongoing project begun in 2015 to bring to life Homer’s Odyssey through memorizing and performing the text in flexible form and in collaboration with other artists . The goal is to create a complete performable odyssey, recited from memory (with partial assistance from other narrators within the next few years (see notes on final structure). I want to keep this goal in mind while staying committed to the process of exploration and creation by presenting my efforts to memorize the text and my changing relationship to the project in an open an ongoing way. Thus “the living Odyssey” has a double meaning that encompasses both the notion of bringing the classical poem to life and a personal journey through my pursuit of this project. This page will serve as a landing spot for the project going forward and will feature a sketch of the final project as well as will link to both past performances and to future stages and ‘projects within the project’ both possible and actual.
